Planning a vacation can be stressful, especially during the holiday season. Often travelers try to fit as many moments into their trip as possible. The good part about this time of year is that there are many magical events happening and things to do in California and all across the country.
The holiday ice rink located in Orange County is a favorite for families. This event is held at the Irvine Spectrum Center which is close to Disneyland. This is a great event to attend to mix up your schedule if you are visiting Disneyland and looking for other things to do or just visiting the area in general.
The Irvine Spectrum Center is located in Giant Wheel Court near Macy’s and Nordstrom. It also hosts a giant ferris wheel which makes the scene that much more fun. The holiday ice rink is the only outdoor ice rink in Orange County. The rink itself is 47 feet wide by 72 feet long and lined with Christmas lights on all sides, covered by a giant tent ceiling. An interesting fact about this rink is that the ice is maintained by the world’s smallest custom Zamboni machine. This is truly a great event for couples or the whole family.
The holiday ice rink is open from November 1st through February 17th from 11am to 9:15pm. There is a holiday schedule with extended skate times and some closures. The schedule can be found on the skate website (http://skatespectrum.com/schedule.html). Most weekends skate times are extended to 11pm or even midnight, to make for some magical nights. For locals, season passes are available for $129. Regular skate sessions are $14 for both children and adults. Skate rentals are $4 but toddlers are $13 with rental included.
The holiday ice rink is an event you don’t want to miss. Make memories with the whole family and spend the night slipping, sliding, and skating under a blue light glow. Private lessons and private parties are also available for those interested in a more intimate setting. For more information, the ice rink box office can be reached at (949) 748-8280. Don’t miss out on a night of holiday memories with the ones you love.
