Are you looking for a cultural experience that is affordable, easy to plan and different from the norm? If you’re ready to be inspired, head to MUZEO. This museum and cultural center will ignite your mind and fuel your creativity. Located in downtown Anaheim, MUZEO is one of Orange County’s most exceptional attractions, and it’s filled with diverse collections you won’t see anywhere else in California.
The museum holds several prestigious traveling exhibits every year, so you’ll have new experiences each time you visit. The circulating exhibitions vary in theme, but they always feature thought provoking and exciting pieces. Special events and activities that complement the exhibitions are held as well. Even if you aren’t a fan of the arts in general, you’ll find something of interest at this extraordinary museum.
One of the more impressive exhibitions coming to MUZEO is King Tut: Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh’s Tomb. It will arrive at the museum Nov. 8, 2015 and will be on display until Jan. 24, 2016. The collection includes more than 100 replicas of riches that belonged to the famous King Tutankhamun. Each item will be presented in open cases, which means you’ll get an up-close peek at the fascinating details.
Every program offered by MUZEO is a celebration of history and customs. The strong focus on exploration is what makes each one special. A particularly interesting event is Night by the Nile taking place Nov. 7. Guests will be able to spend the evening socializing, exploring the past and learning about King Tut. After the new exhibit opens, the festivities will continue with camel rides, giveaways and children’s activities.
Other events at the venue include informative presentations, discussions led by local authors, book signings and lunch-hour educational programs that focus on various topics. Fun, family-friendly activities are occasionally held at the museum as well. Past events include a flashlight blackout party and a family festival. During these gatherings, guests get personalized tours, enjoy delicious foods and make crafts together.
You can also view stunning works of art at MUZEO. With the ever-changing agenda, you never know what you’re going to see. Whether it’s poignant photography or a collection of trash that has been transformed into a visual masterpiece, the artistry will leave you awestruck. If you tour the museum on the weekend, a docent will enhance your experience with tidbits of information on the artwork and artists.
MUZEO is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and ticket prices are $10 for adults and $6 for children. You can manage a full tour in just a couple hours, but you may want to extend your visit by spending some time in the beautiful outdoor courtyard. No matter what your adventure turns into, you’ll find that exploring this unique cultural complex is like uncovering layers of the past one legend at a time.
